Behavioral Health Interventions for Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Populations
A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Have you ever tried looking into behavioral health interventions for transgender and gender nonconforming people and been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information? Did you find yourself asking questions like:
What kinds of programs have been developed to improve the health and well-being of transgender people?
Which interventions are effective?
Are all interventions safe?
How can I best implement the findings from clinical trials into my life?
A systematic review and meta-analysis summarizes the results of all relevant clinical trials related to a research question. These reviews combine all the available evidence to form a deeper understanding of the effectiveness, safety, and feasibility of different interactions.
This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to understand (1) what interventions have been developed and tested to improve the health and well-being of transgender people, and (2) evaluate quantitative evidence on feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy on these interventions on health outcomes (e.g., mental health, HIV/STI, suicide risk, etc.).
