My thesis is an album of original songs that bridges my psychology studies with my music studies to create an immersive experience of healing and resilience. Now more than ever people are looking for effective new ways to care for themselves and heal in a tumultuous, undependable world. I hope that this album can aid in that process for some. I hope that in the worlds I’ve created in my songs, the pain that the characters overcome and the love they find can serve as a type of self-led music therapy to listeners. I wrote these songs to find solace during difficult times in my own life. Working on the album brought me closure and joy as I prepared to share these songs with the world, with the goal of moving and empowering others as well.
