Music Capstone Project:

What Matters in the End: A Capstone Recital

For my capstone project, I held a senior recital which marked the culmination of my musical journey at Brown. For the recital, I wanted to create something that captured my experiences not only as a musician, but more broadly as someone who has had to live through a pandemic and reevaluate what really matters to them. The pieces that I programmed centered around music that brought me a sense of hope during a difficult time and also held personal meaning to finding my identity as a musician. Works programmed included: excerpts from the Arutunian trumpet concerto, excerpts from the Hadyn trumpet concerto, Song of Hope by Peter Meechan, and spoken word written by me. The recital also featured the following musicians: Xinru Li, Susan Hasegawa, James Hong, William MacDonald, Jackson Moore, Robin Hwang, Brendan McMahon, Mei Tiemeyer, Rami Najjar, Nicholas Cancellaro, Zachary Bernstein, Ethan Vivoda-Sadee, Sean Chung, Milan Pandey.
