Vineetha Bheemarasetty Successfully Defends Ph.D. Thesis

The Xiao Group is delighted to announce that Vineetha Bheemarasetty has successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis on December 1, 2025. Her dissertation, titled “Mechanisms of Spin and Charge Transport Across Oxide and Alloy Interfaces,” presents significant advances in the understanding of interfacial phenomena that underpin next-generation spintronic and quantum materials technologies.

During her time at Brown, Vineetha distinguished herself both as a researcher and as a valued member of our group. Her work combined careful experimental design with deep physical insight, contributing to the broader condensed matter physics community.

Vineetha’s accomplishments have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including:

  • The 2024 Jun Qi’03 Ph.D. and Christine Geng Graduate Fellowship in Condensed Matter Experimental Physics from Brown University’s Department of Physics
  • NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP) Honorable Mention
  • The American Physical Society’s Division of Condensed Matter Physics Travel Award

These honors reflect her scientific rigor, creativity, and commitment to advancing condensed matter research.

The Xiao Group congratulates Vineetha on this important milestone and celebrates her many achievements during her graduate career. We look forward to seeing the impact of her work in the years ahead.
