Daniel L. Young, PT, DPT, PhD

Daniel Young completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy training at Creighton University in 2002 and his PhD in Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2014. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and holds an appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation where he helps to lead the work of the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion (JH-AMP) program. Broadly, his research aims to combat the immobility harm experienced by patients in the acute hospital through better understanding of the access to, outcomes from, and costs associated with acute hospital rehabilitation efforts. His LeaRRn pilot award is a mixed methods implementation study that will establish a common language for hospital providers to use when discussing their patients physical function and investigate the factors associated with implementation of that language under the mentorship of Renee R Shield, PhD.
