Kevin McLaughlin is an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. His research focuses on the development of patient-centered care models for patients receiving physical therapy with a focus on the timing and frequency of physical therapy visits, as well as how telerehabilitation can be integrated into these care models. His recent projects include a study examining the use of frontloaded home health physical therapy to reduce hospital readmissions and a pilot study comparing the use of telerehabiliation and in-person physical therapy following ankle fracture repair. Dr. McLaughlin’s LeaRRn pilot award will examine the impact of acute physical therapy visit frequency on key hospital outcomes among subgroups of post-operative older adults.
