Matt Briggs PT, DPT, PhD, AT, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Researcher in Ambulatory Rehabilitation and the Sports Medicine Research Institute at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. His research interests and agenda focus on understanding factors that may be used to optimize systems and strategies for the delivery of rehabilitation interventions with a focus on improving care efficiency and quality while maximizing patient outcomes in diverse patient populations. 

As a LeaRRn Scholar, Dr. Briggs was be mentored by Dr. Christine McDonough PT, PhD (University of Pittsburgh) and collaborated with Cleveland Clinic. His project focused on using patient-reported outcomes to evaluate and improve outpatient rehabilitation. More specifically, Dr. Briggs examined the relationships among Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement (PROMIS) scores and objective, performance based clinical measures in neurologic populations receiving outpatient, physical therapy services. This work will help to build frameworks to inform patient management and treatment strategies to optimize outcomes in these populations.
