Rachel Prusynski, DPT, NCS, PhD is a physical therapist, board-certified specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy, and an Assistant Professor in the University of Washington Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Prusynski’s research leverages large data to examine relationships between health policy, rehabilitation processes, and patient outcomes in post-acute care. Her recent publications have focused on the influence of Medicare policy on therapist staffing, therapy practice, and patient outcomes in Skilled Nursing Facilities. Dr. Prusynski is the 2022 recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association Dorothy Briggs Memorial Scientific Inquiry Award and her work has been funded by the Foundation for PT Research, the Health Policy & Administration Section of the APTA, and the National Institutes of Health.
As a LeaRRn scholar with BAYADA Home Health Care, Dr. Prusynski will leverage her experience with statistical methods and large administrative data to examine questions around care quality, outcomes of clinical initiatives, and the impacts of the Patient Driven Groupings Model, different insurance payers, and the coronavirus pandemic on processes and outcomes of care.
