In its October issue, Science Magazine reports that “Archaeologists Alarmed by Turkey’s Proposed Dig Rules.” Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry is considering implementing rules that could require that excavation seasons last at least 4 months and that a Turkish co-director be appointed for each dig.
