Brown International Advanced Research Institutes 2012 will offer 2-week intensive residential institutes for young faculty and professionals from around the world. These institutes are focused on Global Health; Climate Change; Development and Population; and Theater and Civil Society, and run from June 9-23.  Full details at brown.edu/biari.
Each Institute is organized as a mix of lectures, round table discussions, group work, field trips, cultural events and social interactions. Each is led by a team of distinguished Brown faculty who have invited world-renowned lecturers and speakers to join and participate in the Institute’s formal and informal activities. Institutes are residential, with accommodations and meals provided.
The Institutes are academically rigorous and admission is highly competitive. Financial support is available for international participants.
Review of applications begins January 4, 2012. Applicants early in their professional careers are especially welcome. Participant practitioners normally have four to ten years experience in their professional field.  Participants from an academic background are usually within seven years of having finished their PhD or professional terminal degree; on rare occasions, we accept exceptional pre-doctoral applicants.
