College Fellow in the Archaeology of Israel and the Hebrew Bible

The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations is seeking applications for a College Fellow in the Archaeology of Israel and the Hebrew Bible for the academic year 2014-15. The Fellow will teach three courses over the two semesters of the academic year and have the fourth slot reserved for his or her research. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses that are accessible to both undergraduate and graduate students, and will have scholarly expertise in the archaeology of Israel in the First Temple period (and prior).  Teaching competence in the archaeology of Israel in the Second Temple period and the broader ancient Near Eastern context is also highly desirable. The Fellow may in addition advise and evaluate undergraduate senior theses. Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree by the expected start date. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
