An online lecture with Ms. Naz Yücel, PhD candidate in history at the George Washington University.
Ms. Yücel will discuss the regime of the late Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II (r. 1876 – 1909). She will focus on the financial underpinnings that enabled the regime’s sustenance for over three decades, with a focus on the Sultan’s Privy Purse and the property and concessions Sultan Abdulhamid II acquired in the course of his rule.
