PhD. Nicholas Hellmuth is a leading researcher of Maya culture with over five decades of experience. He has photographed ruins since 1961 and discovered the Jade Jaguar Tomb at Tikal in 1965. He is founder of the Foundation for Latin American Anthropological Research (FLAAR) and has directed multiple projects on iconography and biodiversity in the Maya world.
