The Journal of Roman Archaeology and the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University invite applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Roman Archaeology who will serve at the same time as the Assistant Editor of JRA.  This full-time position will be shared equally between Brown University and JRA.
Candidates must have previous editorial experience as well as being engaged in a promising and developing research program. We are interested in individuals whose work focuses on any aspect of or period in Roman archaeology, and who have relevant fieldwork experience. Excellence in undergraduate and graduate-level teaching is essential.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach half time — i.e., one course per semester. In the newly created position of Assistant Editor, the successful candidate will also be responsible for assigning and editing all JRA book reviews and managing routine correspondence with authors. This will be a two-year position ideally beginning on July 1, 2017 and subject to renewal; the Ph.D. must be in hand by that date.

The Research Centre “Religions and Societies in the Mediterranean World” (RESMED), a laboratory of excellence affiliated to Sorbonne University (Paris) offers five (5) one-year RESMED postdoctoral fellowships, starting July 2016. Deadline for applications: 15 March 2016.

Two-year academic diversity postdoctoral fellowship:

The Department of Classics at Dartmouth College invites applicants for its newly-established academic diversity postdoctoral fellowship.
Applicants for this position must be specialists in the literature, material culture, or history of ancient Greece or Rome.  Promising candidates will be (1) scholars from one of the populations historically underrepresented in the American university system (including but not limited to African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans, or
Latinos/as) /or/ (2) scholars whose experience, teaching, or research will enhance the diversity and cultural competency of the Dartmouth community. The intent of this fellowship is to foster the academic careers of promising scholars who have recently received their Ph.D. degrees by permitting them to pursue their research while gaining mentored experience as teachers and members of an academic department. The program also benefits Dartmouth by broadening the range of scholarly specialties, viewpoints, and experiences represented among our faculty.
This fellowship has a term of two years with a start date of 15 June 2016. Fellows teach one course and assist with two introductory-level, large-enrollment courses in each academic year. Postdoctoral Research Position in the Material Culture of the Ancient Mediterranean
University of Michigan

The Ancient World Project (Teaching and Learning for the Third Century: Changing the Way We Teach the Ancient World; https://www.lrc.lsa.umich.edu/eliav/kelsey/about/) in collaboration with the Department of Near Eastern Studies is seeking candidates for a 1-year postdoctoral position, renewable (although not guaranteed) for a second year, to begin September 1, 2015.
We are looking for people with broad graduate training in the archaeology and/or history of the eastern Mediterranean regions and their physical environment, with preference (although not a requirement) to the Graeco-Roman eras, and with some knowledge of the Jewish and/or Christian realms. They must also be comfortable and capable in researching ancient artifacts and writing about them. A PhD degree is required prior to appointment. The successful candidate will work on his/her own project for a minimum of 20 hours per week, and an additional 20 hours will be devoted to work for the Ancient World Project under the guidance and supervision of one of its senior members.
Salary for this position is $50,000 for a 12-month appointment. The position also includes a full benefits package, $2,000 research allowance, and up to $3,500 in moving costs.
