Marcus Aurelius takes to a favorite summer pastime.

Our August picture of Marcus Aurelius was not in fact staged by affiliates of the Joukowsky Institute. A wiffle ball bat appeared in Marcus’ hand earlier this month, and we captured a shot of it as the most recent addition to the Institute’s photo series.

While the campus community enjoyed the playful addition to our statue, a colossal statue of Marcus Aurelius was discovered at Sagalassos, in Turkey. Michelle Berenfeld provided us with the following links with news related to the discovery:
