The Harvard Near East Society has announced its first lecture of the
2008-2009 academic year.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16th at 5:00pm in Haller Hall, Dr. John Curtis, Keeper of
the British Museum’s Ancient Near East department, will be presenting his
lecture “The Current State of Cultural Heritage in Iraq, 2003-2008” to the
Harvard community.
Dr. Curtis has been one of the most prominent archaeologists involved in the
enormously important conservation and protection of Iraq’s archaeological
sites, and his efforts have been in the media several times in the past few
years. At this lecture you will hear the findings of his most recent visits to
Iraq.
