Joey Metler is a Therapist and Coordinator on the Overdose Prevention Services team in Behavioral Health Services at Howard Brown Health. Joey completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at NEIU and his Masters in Social Work at UIC Jane Addams College of Social Work.
Joey has focused his clinical work in the area of identity formulation and integration along with specialties in substance use, sex/kink positive practice, and dual diagnosis treatment. When not providing therapy, Joey facilitates trainings in the community focused on harm reduction and overdose prevention along with providing community access to naloxone, clean needles, and other harm reduction materials.
Joey’s personal interests include reading, cooking, playing video games, and exploring new opportunities in life to satisfy his never ending curiosity.
