Emily Alton is a Senior Research Assistant at Brown University in the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies (CAAS). Emily completed her undergraduate degree at Roger Williams University, majoring in Psychology. She received her Masters in Psychology from Rhode Island College. Emily’s professional background includes 8 years’ experience working with community organizations, primarily focusing on work with dually-diagnosed, chronically unhoused individuals in the Philadelphia, PA and Providence, RI areas. Emily’s research interests are extensive, but in the future, she hopes to complete a PhD in Counseling Psychology where she will focus her research interests on examining risk and protective factors for health outcomes following experiences of trauma. In her spare time, Emily enjoys baking, crocheting, and nightly dance parties with her toddler. She is also on a memoir-reading spree and welcomes any book suggestions!
