Medical Director for El Rio’s Special Immunology Clinic

Sudha Nagalingam, M.D., has 14 years of experience caring for patients living with HIV. She is currently the medical director for El Rio’s Special Immunology Clinic (SIA)– one of the largest Ryan White HIV funded Clinics in Southern Arizona. Under Dr Nagalingam’s leadership, El Rio has developed a walk-in PrEP clinic which has rapidly become one of the largest in the community. She has also pioneered a RAPID START initiative for patients newly diagnosed with HIV in Tucson. Dr.Nagalingam sits on several committees at both local, state and regional level and is a strong patient advocate for the LGBTQ community, refugees and Native American patients that she serves. She works as an Infectious Diseases attending in ambulatory medicine and has given countless educational talks to providers and other members of the community. Dr.Nagalingam received her medical degree from the University of West Indies, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois and her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Case Western Reserve University.
