We are excited to invite you all to celebrate the end of the semester with us at the Aurora Ball. We will have drinks, food, dancing and good vibes brought to you by DJ Gibran. Dress your best as we enjoy a night of fun under the northern lights!
The event will be held at WaterFire Arts Center on Friday, December 2nd, and doors will open at 9pm. Each graduate student may bring a guest. All grad students and guests will receive two drink tickets and more can be purchased with cash. Tickets are currently on sale for $15 on this site or you can purchase them for $20 at the door. You must purchase a ticket for both you AND your guest. This is a 21+ event so please make sure everyone in your party has a legal ID.RSVP: https://bit.ly/GSCAuroraBall
GSC is hosting its first international student mixer for Fall Today, Friday, October 14th, 9:00pm – 12:00am. We have heard your complaints about DJs not playing your songs from your country in social events, not having food that is beyond cheese/pizza and not being able to find more of your international peers.
Come join us then, this event is just for you! For all the people who RSVP and come, I’ll share a playlist link to add your songs to play during the event. Food suggestions from your favorite providence restaurants are welcome.
Since we are celebrating Hispanic heritage month and Navratri is going on for the Indian diaspora (Diwali right around the corner), coming in cultural attire is optional but highly encouraged! Event is open to every graduateย student, we encourage all kinds of cultural appreciation!ย There’ll be good food, new music to discover and dance to, board games, and more! Save the date!ย RSVP HERE

As the semester settles into a rhythm, the GSC is still searching for new volunteers to provide a graduate student perspective on important university committees and meetings.ย ย
First, we are still urgently looking for 3 new observers for the faculty meetings.ย ย These meetings take place the first Tuesday of every month, starting with October, so itโs coming up fast!ย If you are interested in this unique opportunity, please useย this formย to apply for the position.ย More information about the meetings is available on the application.ย ย
Next, we are still looking for more students to serve on the Graduate Council, the Student Conduct Board, and the Title IX Council.ย The deadlines on these applications had previously passed, but they are being reopened untilย Monday, October 3ย so that we can fill all available positions.ย
The Graduate Student Council invites current and new graduate students to join us on Simmons Quad, September 2nd at 9pm, for food, drinks, and music as we kick off the new year! We will provide you with two drink tickets that can be redeemed for beer and wine, and there will also be water and soft drinks available. We will serve some light appetizers, including vegan and vegetarian friendly options. Graduate students are allowed to bring one guest with them for this event. GibranPVD will be spinning for us, so come ready to celebrate as we welcome everyone back to campus!
You will need to bring your Brown ID and state/international ID to enter (guests only need to bring their state/international ID). Additional drink tickets are available to purchase at the event for $5 CASH. See the flyer attached for more details.
