Biomimetic feeder layer for stem cells

A collaborative project between the Darling and Hoffman-Kim Laboratories found that by replicating cell-like surface topography and stiffness using a moldable hydrogel embryonic stem cells could grow as if they were on living, mouse embryonic fibroblasts. The paper entitled “A biomimetic synthetic feeder layer supports the proliferationand self-renewal of mouse embryonic stem cells” was published in Acta Biomaterialia.
